I've spent a lot of time in the past few weeks working to get back in touch with my more serious writing side. By this, I mean returning to a handful of unfinished, epic writing projects.
And I only say epic because the majority of what I write is (generally) 3-10 pages in script format. Piddly-popsicles compared to what I'm working on currently. And I'll tell you this: the whole reason that I ever "gave up" on the more substantial writing projects is solely because of motivation. See, I can spend the year or two that it'll take me to write a book and, well, write a book, but chances are good that this book will only be seen by a handful of people. Simply put, why put that much work into something if no one will ever see it?
My videos. on the other hand .... those 3-10 page scripts will be produced and put in front of a built-in audience of nearly two thousand people (at present count). Hundreds more people will watch my videos than will ever read my books.
Motivation. It's literally what drives us.
So what's changed? A couple of things, actually. Grab a drink and then join me after the break for all the details.
T'is the season (starting tomorrow) and the season is a happy one. October 1st through December 31st is the official Devilmas Season (a holiday dedicated to zombies, booze, and friends) and this year, we finally have a little something to help commemorate it. Stay tuned: the official t-shirt will be forthcoming.
