I already wrote about both of these strips here and here, so today I'll tell you about some of the behind-the-scenes stuff I've been working on. The big one, you may have noticed, is that the old website is kinda gone.
As I toiled away at my book promotions, I spent a bit of time thinking about how to hone my personal brand. I realized a little too late that I have all of my work spread out in too many places -- Seminal Works was on its own website, #15secondsToGlory was on its own website, I was using tumblr as a blog and horbawrong.com didn't do a very good job bringing everything into one place. The result is that the fans and followers I DO have are required to work extra hard to see my creative work. Which makes it even harder to "close the deal" with my fans when I push out a new book. So I started bringing everything under horbawrong.com. #15secondsToGlory was the easiest, krumbine.net now redirects to this blog (which just makes all the sense in the world), and Seminal Works was a multi-day process full of tireless work and anguish, rebuilding the comic blog on horbawrong. But it's done. And seminalcomic.com still works, it just points to the new landing page on horbawrong. Granted, I still need to rebuild the archives, but one step at a time, okay? Now, any traffic that Seminal Works captures can easily stay on horbawrong.com. So on and so forth. I think it puts me in a much better place to tackle 2015 and I hope you agree. |
